We have worked across two primary schools in Southwark – Rotherhithe and Surrey Square – to run workshops including ceramics, carpentry and lino printing that give the children who take part a great opportunity to get creative with a whole range of materials and, more importantly, get messy!
The carpentry workshops enabled young girls to use hand tools and power tools that were not available to them at home and, at Surrey Square, they made insect habitats for the School garden.
We we very lucky to work with some amazing tutors – Melina Xenaki, Jo Behari and Sanira Emon – who helped bring the workshops to life and increase the skills and confidence of South London’s latest budding artists!
Ceramics & lino print gallery
During the ceramics and lino printing workshops students studied vegetables and plants to decorate a set of crockery and a tablecloth for display and use at the School.
The project was made possible through the generous support of Team London Bridge.
